My broken nail & saying hello to my new shorties!

Hello!

So this happened...

I caught my nail on a drawer at work and it came right off! I was very very very sad! I couldn't save it so they all got the chop. I clipped and filed them down so they all matched. I wanted to fill you guys in as I'll not be doing thermals for a while and also so when my next post is ready you are expecting these nubbins! I still want to show you all the beautiful polishes so bare with me while I nurse them back to health!

I tidied them up pretty well but it's super strange having short nails as I haven't had them like this in a long long time. I'm getting more used to them as I go though. I also am trying not to paint the ends of my fingers when I'm painting them! Haha! I always find short nails break more for me as when I'm using my fingers the tips of my nails are under strain as well. If you've got any nail care tips for shorties or in general let me know in the comments!

Hello!

Today I have my first Girly Bits polish to show you.

Natural Daylight
Direct Sunlight - That Holo!!!!!
Girly Bits is a Canadian indie polish brand that create beautiful polish and also stock some other indie brands in their store. I brought mine from the Canadian polish stockist Harlow & Co.

Direct Sunlight
Natural Daylight
'The Shaft' is part of the 'What really happened in Vegas' Collection released in 2015. I've lusted after this polish for ages and it didn't disappoint; it's stunning!

Natural Daylight - Shade
Natural Daylight
'The Shaft' is a bronzy brown metallic finish polish with bronze/silver flakies and one of the most beautiful holo finishes I've ever seen. This beauty seriously glows holo!

Direct Sunlight

Natural Daylight - With Flash
I used just two super easy coats to reach full opacity even on my talons! The formula is really really good. Removal was also super easy despite the flakies. I topped it all off with HK Girl Top Coat.

I loved loved loved wearing this polish. The formula and opacity are brilliant. That holo is so sparkly, glowly and beautiful. I love the shade of brown, it's super unique and in some lights it even looks a little mauve! I'm so impressed with my first experience with Girly Bits and will definitely try more in the future.

What do you think? Are there any brands/polishes you're lusting after?

Nail Mail Monday

Hello!

I've got some more nail mail to show you today.

My first mail came from Nail Polish Direct which is a UK based stockist of heaps and heaps of mainstream brands for really good prices and free shipping to the UK. I needed some more OPI Nail Envy which I use as my base coat and the two Color Club polishes were a step on my journey to a perfect white polish. Christine from simplynailogical (If you don't follow her yet go check her out! Her nails are amazing, full of holo and she's super funny!) recommended Color Club 'French Tip' as her best one coat white polish so I thought I'd give it a try. It comes with a thin brush so I brought the other Color Club for the wider brush.

From Left to Right is Color Club 'French Tip' 1 Coat! and 'Blank Canvas' 3 Coats.

I'm looking forward to tying this out in a full mani. I'll let you know the results!

These are my naked nails with OPI Nail Envy on top. It really is magical for nails!

I also received my first order from Harlow & Co. this week. They are a Canadian stockist of lots of indie brands and offer free international delivery when you spend over a certain amount! I picked up these beauties at a great price.

From Left to Right is KBShimmer 'Garnet' and 'Yule Worthy', Polished for Days 'Paris', Girly Bits 'The Shaft' and Colors by Llarowe 'March to a Different Beat'.

I was very autumnal with this colour choice but I just couldn't help it. Burgundy and Copper and brown are my weakness at the moment! And so much sparkle!

I also picked up these beautiful Delush Polish Stamping plates. DP01, 02 and 03.

Aren't the images beautiful! I can't wait to try these.

I also received my Color4nails order containing the new Femme Fatale Cosmetics store exclusive and a bottle of my trusty HK Girl Top Coat.

Anything you like the look of? Have you got any colours you just can't resist? Let me know!
